Kinder Choir Prodigies (Age 5 to 7) This is a non-performing group where the young child is introduced to singing. Students are given a singing method book for young beginners.  2018 students will also receive materials from the Prodigies Program for which Mrs. Easterly is a life time ambassador of. This program is carefully designed to introduce the young singer to the basics of singing and reading music. It also covers the basics of correct posture and breathing technique. Students sing well-known children’s songs long with the use of Solfege syllables to help the student identify pitches within the key. Students will play simple rhythm instruments, melodic instruments, play music games, rhythm games and more. When a student graduates from this program, they are eligible to participate in Grace Notes Preparatory Elementary Choir . WE MEET EVERY TUESDAY from 12:45 to 1:45 p.m.

Preparatory Elementary Choir - PE (Age 8 to 11) This is a preparatory elementary age choir of beginning singers. In addition to continuing the basics of singing and reading music, students cover correct posture and breathing, Solfege and beginning part singing. Students learn to read two-part choral music. Students are introduced to sol-fa syllables which help to identify pitches. Students learn fun vocal warm-up pieces, tongue twisters, choir singing games and more.  This choir performs once every 6 to 8 weeks at retirement facilities, nursing homes and retirement communities in our area. Audition is not required but perspective students are asked to schedule a 15 minute evaluation appointment with Mrs. Easterly so that she can hear vocal range and get to know the student. Disney Music, Folk Music, Classical Music, Broadway Tunes, Church Music and more are part of our standard repertoire. WE MEET EVERY TUESDAY from 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Preparatory Secondary - PS (age 12 to 18). This is a preparatory choir for the secondary age choir student. At this point, students begin learning more advanced music while continuing two-part singing. They are also introduced to three-part singing. Students are given speaking parts and work on presentation skills as they prepare for each concert. Sol-fa syllables are used in part singing to identify pitches. Warm-ups, the importance of breath control, diction, blend and harmonizing are worked on at every rehearsal. This choir performs once every 6 to 8 weeks at retirement facilities, nursing homes and retirement communities in our area. Audition is Required for this group. Students prepare a short selection of their choosing to sing for Mrs. Easterly. Mrs. Easterly also takes this time to hear the vocal range of the student and get to know them better. Disney Music, Folk Music, Classical Music, Broadway Tunes, Church Music and more are part of our standard repertoire.  WE MEET EVERY TUESDAY from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.  

Pitch Perfect Select Honor Choir - PP ( Age 12 – 18, Advanced). Students must be in Grace Notes Choir for at least a semester before auditioning for the select choir.  Member of this group are our honor choir. Their music is more challenging.  They have solo parts. In addition, they serve as the leaders of Grace Notes Choir during combined choir rehearsals and hold choir officer positions. Disney Music, Folk Music, Classical Music, Broadway Tunes, Church Music and more are part of our standard repertoire. 
Summer Choir Rehearsals: Students must participate in at least one summer choir camp or sign up for four private  30 minute voice lessons (if they are out of town during choir camp) in order to participate in Grace Notes Choir program during the school year. Students spend choir camp learning songs that they will perform at the beginning of Fall, prior to learning Holiday music for our December Holiday performances. Disney Music, Folk Music, Classical Music, Broadway Tunes, Church Music and more are part of our standard repertoire. *Summer Private lessons will be billed an additional $50 fee if they cannot attend choir camp and need to substitute private lessons. Private summer choir lessons are given as a convenience to the student that is on vacation during choir camp so that he/she may continue in choir in the Fall. We meet every Tuesday from 3:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m  (They attend PS rehearsal and stay for an extended PP rehearsal after)
